Terms of Service
Last updated: August 6, 2026
These terms govern your use of Forkfolio, a platform that builds a live developer portfolio from your GitHub data and hosts it under forkfolio.dev. By creating an account you agree to them. Forkfolio is operated by Louey Lahwel; contact: forkfolioteam@forkfolio.dev.
Your account
- You sign in with your own GitHub account and must be allowed to use it.
- You are responsible for what appears on your portfolio and for keeping your GitHub account secure.
- One person's account is theirs alone: no sharing, selling, or transferring accounts.
Your content
You own your content: profile text, experiences, résumé, images, and links. You grant Forkfolio a limited license to store, process, and publicly display that content as part of your portfolio, and to process it for the AI assistant (chunking and embeddings). That license ends when you delete the content or your account. Content pulled from GitHub (repository names, descriptions, languages) remains subject to your own rights and GitHub's terms.
Portfolios are public by design. Do not upload anything you are not allowed to publish, including other people's personal data or confidential résumés.
Acceptable use
- No illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
- No impersonation of other people or organizations.
- No abusing the AI assistant (spamming, scraping, prompt attacks, using it to generate content unrelated to the portfolio owner).
- No attacking the platform: probing, overloading, or bypassing rate limits.
- No registering domains or usernames meant to deceive visitors.
We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.
The AI assistant
The chat assistant answers from the portfolio owner's own data using third-party AI providers (Groq for chat, Google and/or OpenAI for embeddings). Answers can be incomplete or wrong, and are not statements by the portfolio owner or by Forkfolio. Do not rely on them for hiring, legal, or financial decisions.
Free service, changing features
Forkfolio is currently free. Features, templates, limits, and promotional unlocks (including LinkedIn and founding-member unlocks) may change, and some features may later become paid with reasonable notice. We do not promise uninterrupted availability; the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
Third-party services
Forkfolio relies on GitHub, Supabase, Vercel, Groq, Google, and OpenAI. Their own terms and policies apply to their parts of the service, and we are not responsible for their outages or changes.
Ending the relationship
You can stop using Forkfolio and delete your account at any time from your dashboard; deletion is permanent and removes your stored data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or delete accounts for abuse, with notice where practical.
Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, Forkfolio is not liable for indirect or consequential damages (lost data, lost profits, lost opportunities) arising from the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, on the free tier, is zero).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Tunisia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
If we change these terms materially, we will update the date above and announce significant changes on the site before they apply. Continuing to use Forkfolio after that means you accept the new terms. See also our Privacy Policy.
